Journey from Vienna to Bucharest through six countries by local transport, balancing bohemian cities, a Tatra Mountains hike, wine tasting in Eger and the legends of Transylvania. Accommodation is on a twin or multishare basis, pairing solo travellers by gender. Expect occasional alternative properties, sometimes with shared rather than ensuite facilities and without air-conditioning, kettles or fridges.
