  • Hike rainforest to Machame Camp, watching for colobus monkeys.
  • Traverse moorland to Shira 2, visiting Shira Cathedral for Kibo Peak views.
  • Ascend to Lava Tower, then descend into the Great Barranco Valley.
  • Scale the Great Barranco Wall beneath the Helm Glacier.
  • Walk between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers toward Stella Point.

Experience full-service alpine camping on Kilimanjaro: porters carry and pitch two-person dome tents with built-in insect nets and provide warm, comfortable mattresses. Campsites are basic with long-drop latrines, no electricity or showers; basins of warm water are prepared, meals cooked by your crew, and Barafu’s water is porter-carried.
